There's a new MARSHAL at TWISD!

Posted Date: 03/16/26 (09:33 AM)

If you see Mr. Williams looking a little different around campus, don’t worry — nothing has changed in terms of safety concerns or threats. In fact, this is simply one more way we are continuing to strengthen the safety of our school.

Our Safety and Security Director, Mr. Mike Williams, has officially completed the required training and certification to serve as a School Marshal.

A School Marshal is a specially trained school employee who completes extensive background checks, psychological evaluations, and over 80 hours of specialized training through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. This training focuses on school safety, emergency response, threat management, and protecting students and staff.

The purpose of the School Marshal program is to add another layer of protection on campus by having a trained individual who can respond quickly in the event of a serious emergency.

For our school, this simply means:
• An additional trained safety professional on campus
• Faster response capability in an emergency
• Continued commitment to keeping our students and staff safe

Mr. Williams already does an incredible job serving and protecting our campus, and this certification adds another tool to help ensure Three Way ISD remains a safe place to learn and grow.

We appreciate his dedication to our students, staff, and community.
