Attention TWISD athletic families!

The 2026–2027 TWISD Athletic Handbook is now available for review. Please take a few moments to read through the handbook with your student-athlete, then complete the required electronic acknowledgment to indicate that you have reviewed and understand the expectations, policies, and procedures for participation in TWISD athletics.

Your electronic signature is required before your student participates in athletic activities.

Three Way ISD Athletic Handbook 2026-2027

This handbook establishes the expectations, policies, and procedures governing all Three
Way ISD athletic programs. Participation in athletics is a privilege and signifies agreement
to follow this handbook, the Student Code of Conduct, Board Policy, and UIL rules.

Eligibility
Student-athletes must meet all UIL and TEA academic eligibility requirements. Eligibility is
determined at official UIL grade checks. Students in grades 6-12 may participate if they
meet district and UIL requirements.
  • Complete all pre-participation forms annually.
  • Complete required physical examination.
  • Maintain emergency contact information.

Drug Testing
Three Way ISD maintains a drug-free athletic program.
  • All student-athletes are eligible for random student drug testing according to TWISD policy and procedures
  • Testing will be conducted according to the Three Way ISD Drug Testing Policy.
  • Refusal to test will be treated the same as a positive test.
  • All procedures, appeals, consequences, and reinstatement are governed by the official Three Way ISD Drug Testing Policy.

Attendance & Practice
  • Attendance at all practices, games, meetings, and team functions is expected.
  • Unexcused absences may result in reduced playing time, conditioning, suspension, or dismissal.
  • Athletes are expected to arrive on time, work hard, and represent TWISD with pride.

Safety
  • Water will always be available during practices.
  • UIL heat and concussion protocols will be followed.
  • All injuries must be reported immediately.

Locker Room & Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones are NOT allowed in the locker room under any circumstances. There are no
exceptions.
  • Any athlete bringing a cell phone to the field house must place it in the designated cell phone storage container before entering the locker room.
  • Phones remain in the container until practice, workouts, meetings, or contests conclude unless authorized by a coach.
  • Violation may result in disciplinary action, including suspension of athletic privileges.
  • The athletic department is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices.
Locker rooms are to remain clean and respectful. Hazing, bullying, theft, fighting, horseplay, and vandalism are prohibited.

Transportation
  • District transportation will normally be provided for away contests.
  • Athletes are expected to ride to and from contests with the team.
  • Release to a parent/legal guardian requires coach approval in accordance with district procedures.

Social Media
Student-athletes represent Three Way ISD at all times. Inappropriate social media content that violates district policy or reflects poorly on the athletic program may result in disciplinary action.

Letter Jackets
Letter jacket requirements will be established by the Athletic Director and head coaches. Athletes must complete the season in good standing and satisfy sport-specific requirements.
